Amanda Sandoval

Amanda Sandoval

Amanda Sandoval was born in Alice, Texas and was raised in Colorado Springs. She graduated from Alice High School in May 2005 and started her collegiate career at Texas State University the following fall. Since her freshman year, Amanda has been involved in several organizations and has held numerous leadership positions. Last fall she helped coordinate Student Foundation’s 30th Anniversary Concert with Stelos Alliance. She is currently a member of Hip Hop Congress and is the founder of Mount Jupiter Incorporated. When she has time she works on her corporation and is the development coordinator and public relations specialist for several musicians, artists, companies, and events. She is presently coordinating several show cases, a hip hop tour, and a Latina empowerment reception for Texas State freshman and San Marcos High freshman that will be held this October. Amanda is a Communication major and mass communications minor and is looking forward to graduating in 2010.

Amanda Venable

Amanda Venable

Amanda was raised in Austin, where she graduated from McNeil High School in 2006. She started school at Texas State that fall and plans to graduate May 2010 Suma Cum Ladue. Amanda got involved with the Texas State campus news paper, The University Star, the fall semester of her sophomore year, where she covered breaking news around campus and the local community. Amanda is now the editor in chief of The Star. During her summers in college, Amanda interned at Public Strategies, Inc., The Austin American-Statesman and The Heritage Foundation in Washington, D.C.  Amanda’s favorite place to be is outside. She likes outdoor activities such as running, swimming, riding bikes, and anything that involves the San Marcos River.

Ariana Vargas

Ariana Vargas

Ariana Vargas was born in Groton, Connecticut and raised in San Antonio, Texas. After graduating from Sandra Day O’Connor High School, she began her collegiate career at Texas State University-San Marcos.  She is currently a senior at Texas State University majoring in Interdisciplinary Studies with an EC-6/ESL certification and a minor in Special Education.  Ariana is an active member in various Texas State organizations. She is going on her third year in Student Foundation and has been on the Foundation of Excellence Committee for three consecutive years. She has been also heavily involved in the Associated Student Government since her sophomore year and holds the Senate Pro-Tempore position. She has moved her way up from Student Assistant and Vice President of Membership and Recruitment to the President of Hip Hop Congress, a diverse community service based organization that strives to unite cultures through the art of hip hop, by encouraging creativity, expression, and social activism. She plans to take the leadership skills that she has developed through Texas State and apply it to her post graduate career upon her graduation in the Fall of 2010.

Ashley Flores

Ashley Flores

Ashley Flores was born in Alice, Texas and was raised in the Rio Grande Valley. She graduated from Alice High School in May 2005 and started her collegiate career at Texas State University the following fall. Since her freshman year, Ashley has been involved in several organizations and has held numerous leadership positions. She is senior advisor to the National Association of Hispanic Journalist, member of Latinas Unidas and is the founder and executive producer of two bilingual television shows on campus. When she has time she works on her personal web site and her TV show websites. She is presently coordinating a Latina empowerment reception for Texas State freshman and San Marcos High freshman that will be held this October. Ashley is a mass communication major and media studies minor. Last fall she had the rare opportunity to intern with NBC Universal in New York. While there she worked on Nightly News with Brian Williams, The Today Show and Peacock Productions. Ashley maintains a GPA of 3.34 and will be graduating December 2009. After graduation she plans to teach in the San Marcos School District and attend grad school at Texas State.

Beatriz Gomez

Beatriz Gomez

Beatriz Gomez was born and raised in Guanajuato, Mexico, and moved to the United States in 2005. She has graduated from San Marcos High School and came to Texas State in the fall of 2007. She decided to attend Texas State University because she liked the student atmosphere, but most importantly, she felt faculty and staff truly cared about her academic success.

Her appreciation and respect for other cultures, as well as her desire for understanding the dynamics of today’s global society, led her to pursue a degree in International Studies with a minor in Geography.

 

Since becoming a Bobcat, she has actively participated with the University Honors Program by helping with different activities and events. For the second consecutive year, she is currently serving as the coordinator for “El Día de Los Muertos Celebration.”  In addition to the University Honors Program, she is a member of Student Support Services and its Bobcat Leadership Board serving as the Historian. She worked as a Spanish tutor for Student Support Services, and for the past year, she is serving as a Mentor. She is a member of Golden Key International Honor Society and she enjoys attending the International Studies Club. 

 

In her leisure, she likes to cook, dance, meet new people, and spend time with family and friends.

 

Upon graduation in May 2011, she plans to join the Peace Corps, or work with Human Rights or Environmental Organizations overseas while pursuing a Master’s Degree.  In the future, she would also like to work with the United Nations.

Blake Millican

Blake Millican was born in Austin, Texas, and graduated from Hendrickson High school in Pflugerville, Texas in the spring of 2007. Blake then began his reserve enlistment with the Marine Corps by completing basic training with a meritorious promotion and infantry school before beginning his time as a student here at Texas State in the spring of 2008. As a current sophomore Blake has been involved with the paws preview program, Phi delta Theta fraternity, Student foundation, IFC, and the Associated Student Government. Blake will graduate with a degree in business management and plans to get his masters in business administration. Blake enjoys hunting, working out, being outdoors and spending time with his close friends and the occasional toss down at the river with local legend, Frisbee dan.

Caleb Hudgens

Foundation of Excellence Chair

Caleb Hudgens was born in Stamford, Texas. After graduating Salutatorian from Haskell High School, he became a Bobcat in the fall of 2006. Caleb is active in a number of campus activities and organizations including The Terry Scholars, University Honors Program, University Scholars, Paws Preview, intramural sports, and a former member of the LBJ Debate Society. He is also a part of the Liberal Arts Council of Scholars and the Fine Arts and Communication Council of Scholars. Caleb a senior and graduating in May 2010.With a minor in Theatre Arts, Hudgens is also active in the drama department and has been seen in “A Chorus Line” and “Backyard Story.” He is double majoring in English and Public Relations. Caleb enjoys volunteering at the San Marcos Animal Shelter, non-textbook reading, playing the piano, writing, hunting, and socializing. He currently works as Assistant Forensics Coach at Bridgeport High School and in the Health Education Resource Center at the Student Health Center. After graduation, Hudgens plans to teach English at the Collegio de Cuernavaca in Cuernavaca, Mexico before pursuing an international law degree.

Cameron Johnson

Cameron James Johnson is a junior here at Texas State University. He was born on October 16, 1988 in Denver, Colorado, and was raised in Dallas, Texas. He graduated from Lake Highlands High School as an All-State forward in basketball.
He is a scholarship winner for the Texas State Mens basketball team, which he is a three year letterman. After arriving on campus he pushed himself to get to know as many people as he can, and also be apart of this great university in many different ways. Other
Organizations that allow him to be involved are Associated Student Government, BMU, FOCUSED, and the great Student Foundation. Being a Student-Athlete is time consuming and much hard work but he is proud to represent this university on the court and in Student Foundation.

Cameron Kincaide

Cameron Kincaide was born in San antonio, Tx. After graduating from Churchill hill school in 2007, he went to UTSA in that fall of 2007. He later became a Bobcat in fall 2008. Cameron is an active member in numerous organizations on campus, which include, Phi Delta Theta, Associated Student Govenment, Paws Preview, Intramural sports, and a former member of IFC. Cameron is a Business Management Major, with future plans of pursuing his MBA at the University of Texas. Cameron also enjoys hunting, being with friends and family, playing golf, and hanging out at the river. After graduation, Kincaide plans to pursue a career in the Medical Sales Industry, and eventually running his own Medical Sales Company.

Chris Schave hales from Centralia, Washington and is currently a Junior at Texas State University. He served 4 years in the US Air Force where he worked on f-15 fighter jets. Upon separating from the military, he moved to Texas to pursue a Bachelor's Degree in International Business. He is the co-founder and current President of the Veteran's Alliance at Texas State, President of Le Cercle Français, Student member of the Veteran's Advisory board, Committee Chair for Student Foundations Veteran's Day Ceremony, and Undergraduate Representative for the School of Liberal Arts. Currently, Chris has a 3.71 GPA.

Chrystah Carter

Chrystah Carter

Chrystah grew up in Tomball, Texas and graduated from Tomball High School. At Tomball, Chrystah participated in drill team, being promoted to varsity squad her freshman year. She was a member of the co-op business program, Red Cross, choir, and Senior Girls club. After graduating in May 2007 within the top quarter of her class, Chrystah moved to San Marcos to begin her journey at Texas State University as a finance major. At Texas State, Chrystah pledged the Zeta Tau Alpha women’s fraternity. After soon becoming the new member delegate to the Panhellenic Council and the program council’s Membership Education chair, Chrystah was instantly drawn to the Greek system and desired to become as involved with Texas State as she possibly could. She worked for the Residence Life Department as a Resident Assistant for the 2008-2009 school year.  At the end of fall 2008, Chrystah was chosen for the position of Vice President of Management for the Panhellenic Council. From there, Chrystah learned of the many other organizations that represent Texas State University. She was elected as Senator for the Associated Student Government as well as for the Student Foundation while working towards becoming the Vice President for Phi Eta Sigma Honor’s Fraternity.  Other organizations Chrystah participates in include GAMMA, the University Honors program and Alpha Lambda Delta. Chrystah hopes that her experience and involvement will give her the life lessons and skills necessary to build her way up in the economic and financial system. Her aspirations include obtaining a Masters degree in business as well as a PhD and one day using her experience to write a nonfiction novel. Chrystah enjoys spending time with friends and family, fashion, sports, and laying out by the pool.

Colter Ray

Colter came to Texas State after graduating from The Woodlands High School in 2007. Since coming to San Marcos he has worked for the university as a photographer - an opportunity that allowed him to quickly become connected to various administrators and professors. After serving as the Blanco Hall Council President and holding an internship with Texas State Athletics, Colter turned his attention to the Associated Student Government where he was recognized as Senator of the Year during his first year in the senate. In addition to Student Foundation, Colter now serves as the Chairman of the University Relations Committee and is a member of the recently revived Pi Kappa Alpha Colony. Colter maintains a 4.0 GPA and plans to graduate Summa Cum Laude in May of 2011 with a degree in Public Relations. Following his undergraduate work he plans to obtain his masters in Student Affairs. Colter plans to pursue a career focused on working with university students and looks forward to a lifetime of giving back to Texas State.

Derek Nelson

Derek Nelson

Derek grew up in the town of Angleton, Texas and graduated from Angleton High School.  At Angleton High school Derek played Basketball, Baseball, Football, Golf, and ran track.  He was a member of Student Council and Mu Alpha Theta.  He was named Mr. Cinco de Mayo in 2004, was a Mr. AHS candidate, Homecoming King Nominee in 2005, and was voted class favorite as well as “Most Likely to Be a Millionaire.”  In the fall of 2006 Derek was accepted into Texas State University and joined Pi Kappa Phi fraternity.  In the spring of 2006 Derek was appointed IFC delegate and won New Member of the Year award from his chapter.  In fall 2007 Derek was voted as a Gaillardian by the Texas State students and then was elected onto the Interfraternity council as Vice President of Scholarship.  He was then selected as Treasurer of Greeks Advocating Mature Management of Alcohol as well as being Secretary for his fraternity.  In fall of 2008 Derek served as Vice President of his fraternity and was in charge of recruitment.  He was also selected as Secretary for the Student Organization Council and to be a member of Students In Free Enterprise as well as being elected into another term on IFC as Executive Vice President.  Derek did two years of Paws Preview in both 2008 and 2009 and is a Student Justice Board member.  He has been working for Campus Activities and Student Organizations on the 4th floor of LBJ Student Center since December 2008.

Dyana was born in Galveston, TX on November 21, 1988 to her loving parents Martin and Lisa Rinebold and Donald Hampton III. In high school, she excelled both academically and athletically, graduating #7 in her class from Anahuac High School class of 2007. As a current Junior at Texas State University, Dyana has been involved in Student Foundation, Phi Eta Sigma Freshman Honor Society, American Marketing Association, and also serves as an intern for the Athletic Marketing Department for her second year in a row. Dyana will graduate with a Bachelors of Business Administration in Marketing in the fall of 2010. After college, Hampton plans to move back to childhood home, Houston, TX, and pursue a career in marketing.

Francessa F. Flores

Born in Truro, England, Francesca has relocated many times. She spent most of her HS years in London, England, before eventually graduating from Naples American High School in Naples, Italy. She then moved on to St. Louis University in Madrid, Spain for one year before finding her way to Texas State in the Fall of 2005. Since then, she has been involved with the Baptist Student Ministry, United Nations Student Alliance, Paws Preview, Associated Student Government, Bobcat Mentors and Student Foundation. She is majoring in International Business with minors in Psychology and Spanish and will be graduating this upcoming December. She hopes to one day be work for the United Nations of practice International Human Rights Law.

Gordon Taylor

Gordon Taylor is a senior at Texas State University majoring in Finance. Presently, he is an INROADS intern based in the Houston market and currently works for Deloitte Consulting LLP under the service line of Enterprise Applications. While attending Texas State University, Gordon has been involved in many major activities and organizations which have brought much recognition to the university as a whole. As a freshman, Gordon was inducted into the Phi Eta Sigma National Honor Society for making Dean’s List for his first two semesters. He has been on the Dean’s List five times since entering Texas State in the Fall of 2006. He has been a two-time recipient of The Brightest Star of Texas State Award, an honor given to students who have excelled in both academics and extra-curricular activities. As a former member of the Texas State Basketball team, he was a two-time recipient of the Oaks Farm Athletic Academic Award for having the highest GPA amongst all athletes at the university. Because of his hard work both on and off the court, Gordon was featured as a ‘power player’ in Texas State’s Texas Monthly Magazine and on Texas State’s holiday card with other high profile athletes along side of the university’s president. He was also awarded the university’s Student Athlete of the Month award in February 2008 and was recognized on the Southland Commissioner’s Honor Roll.

Gordon is also involved in the political arena. In 2008, he served as a senator for the Associated Student Government to be a voice for the students. This past spring, he played an integral part in the Associated Student Government Election. He was the campaign manager and organized a team comprised of seventy individuals. Because of his hard work, his candidates won and he currently serves as the university’s Chief of Staff.

Gordon has been very involved in community service with respect to children and teens, appearing at scholarship banquets and athletic functions as a Keynote Speaker, reflecting on his youth and college career as a student leader. Gordon’s latest project is serving as the Founder and President of FOCUSED “African American Males Network,” a non-profit organization designed to encourage African American males to accomplish achievement through accountability partners.

Jaisie Stevens

Born in Freetown, Sierra Leone West Africa, Jaisie Stevens had lived in McAllen, Texas for ten years prior to arriving at Texas State. She graduated top 5% in her class at McAllen Memorial High School in May of 2006. She arrived at Texas State August 2006. Currently, she is a senior majoring in Exercise Sports Science with an emphasis in Pre-Physical Therapy. Jaisie loves being dedicated and serving the Texas State community. She is currently the president of Black Women United, Event Coordinator of African Student Organization, Member of Student Foundation, University Honors Program, University Mentoring Program, and the Pre-Physical Organization. In the past, she has been a Paws Preveiw Co-chair, Registration Director for the African American Leadership Conference and the All Male Conference. Her goals in life are to be a Physical Therapist for a professional football team, help her relatives in Africa, and to serve the community to the best of her abilities. She believes that all that is given to her is because of her Lord and Savior Jesus Christ and she feels she would not be where she is today without him. She finds the greatest pleasure in all the little things in life that most take for granted.

Andrew Skellie

James Andrew Skellie is a Junior at Texas State University enjoying his third year, majoring in Business Management. Since enrolling as an incoming freshman, Andrew has become involved with Delta Tau Delta Fraternity, Student Organizations Council, Student Alumni Chapter, Associated Student Government, The Inter-Fraternity Council, and Student Foundation.  He is currently the President of Student Organizations Council, Vice-President of his fraternity, and Vice-President of Recruitment for the IFC. Andrew has participated in ACT(Achieving Community Together) and Discover Texas State. In his free time Andrew likes to play guitar, golf, intramural soccer and football.  Andrew loves Texas State and the opportunities it has offered him.  He plans on being a very involved alumni and hopes to one day own his own business.

Justin Collard was born and raised in Angleton, Texas. After graduating from Angleton High School in 2007, he became a Bobcat that fall. Justin is an active member in Big Brothers Big Sisters Hays County, PAWS Preview, the Common Experience, Kappa Delta Pi Teachers Honor Fraternity, and the Executive Assistant for the Associated Student Government. As an Interdisciplinary Studies Major with a focus on early childhood through 6th grade, Justin is a very active student within the College of Education. He serves on the Dean's Council as well as student teaches at Bowie Elementary in San Marcos. In his free time Justin enjoys reading, watching television, and learning about technology. After graduation Justin plans on moving back to his hometown to pursue a career in business and education.

Katie McNeff

Katie McNeff

Katie McNeff was born in San Antonio, Texas.  After graduating from Churchill High School, she became a bobcat originally to continue her dance education on the Texas State Strutters.  As a freshman she also joined Alpha Xi Delta sorority and became President of the Smith/Arnold Hall Council.  She is so thankful that she became involved on campus early on because of all the doors it opened for her!  Now a junior, she is Panhellenic Delegate for her sorority, Deputy Senate Pro Tempore for the Associated Student Government, a Cat Camp Counselor, and a member of the Alumni Relations committee in Student Foundation.  She is majoring in Resource and Environmental Studies with a minor in Political Science, and has a 3.71 GPA.  Upon graduation, she plans to attend law school somewhere in Texas.  In her free time she enjoys reading, dancing, and spending time with her sisters and friends from home.

Kirsty Leigh Krejci was born in Abilene, Texas, and grew up in Portland, Texas. She graduated in the top ten percent at Gregory-Portland High School and began attending Texas State University in the fall of 2009. Currently, she is involved in various activities including Student Foundation, Alumni Association, Chi Beta Delta Service Sorority, and the Terry Scholars. She presently holds a 3.3 GPA, and is pursuing to double major in occupational therapy and special education.

Krista Tucker is from League City, Texas and is currently a  Junior here at Texas State University with the major of Business Management. She has strived to make a difference by being involved in all she can. Krista is going on her third year as a member of Alpha Delta Pi sorority where she now holds the office position of Director of Standards and Ethics. Krista is a two year senator in the Associated Student Government, a member of Student Foundation and the Student Chapter of the Alumni Association. Krista was the 2008 winner of Greek Goddess and choosen as a 2009 Panhellenic Woman of the Month. Ms. Tucker is also a two year officer and now President of GAMMA which stands for Greeks Advocating the Mature Management of Alcohol. Krista hopes to go on to pursue her Masters Degree in Buiness. Lauren Smith

Lauren Smith is a Senior here at Texas State University. She is majoring in Communication Studies with a minor in Mass Communication. Lauren is actively involved within her sorority, Zeta Tau Alpha and is involved in helping spread knowledge, and raise money for Breast Cancer Education and Awareness. She also serves on the Judical Board of her sorority to help promote the standards of her sorority. She is also active within the Student Foundation Organization. She has worked hard during her past two years at Texas State University and has dreams of being an event coordinator when she graduates. She participated in an internship in Dallas this past summer with an event production company and is excited for future work opportunities when she graduates. She strives to be a role model to those around her, and loves being active within the University and the San Marcos community. She looks forward to all of the opportunities and experiences she will have upon graduation and is grateful for the person she has become from the great opportunities here at Texas State University.

Lindsey Ledbetter

Lindsey Ledbetter is currently a sophomore at Texas State University. She was born in Dallas, Tx and has lived there her whole life. Lindsey is a nursing major and she will be graduating in May of 2012. She plans on getting her Masters in Anesthesiology and working in plastic surgery. She is involved in the Mitte Honors College along with the Delta Zeta sorority. She is also a member of the Texas State Alumni Association. She does a lot of volunteer work and enjoys being around other people. Lisa Okafor is a native of Sugar Land, Texas and graduated from Stephen F. Austin High School in 2006. Upon arriving to Texas State in the fall of 2006, Lisa has been a member of various organizations at Texas State.  Aside from being the Social Chair of Student Foundation, Lisa is also the Vice President of Marketing for the Association of Information Technology Professionals as well. She is also a very active member of the Student Association of Campus activities and Bobcat Awakening, a Catholic retreat lead by Catholic student at Texas State. Lisa currently holds a 3.42 GPA and plans on graduating Cum Laude in May with a BBA in Computer Information Systems and Quantitative Methods. She also plans on getting her MBA shortly after graduation.  In her free time, Lisa enjoys shopping, kickboxing and spending time at the river.

Melanie Ferrari

Melanie Ferrari was born in Brownsville Texas and graduated from Devine High School in 2007. Graduating in a class of 125 students, Melanie is used to the small town feel. Melanie is pursuing a Mass-Communications degree and is currently a junior. Here at Texas State she is involved in a number of organizations, including: President of Residence Hall Association, a Senator for the Associated Student Government, a New Student Orientation leader, a PAWS Preview Co-Chair, a Cat Camp Counselor, a National Residence Hall Honorary, and a very proud Student Foundation member.  Melanie will be getting a degree in Mass-Communications with an emphasis in Public Relations and a minor in Leadership studies. After graduating she plans to get her Masters in Student Affairs and work for Texas State.

Melissa Figueroa

Melissa was born in San Juan, Puerto Rico and as a military daughter has experienced living in Europe and in different parts of the United States.  Once she moved to Texas, she knew that she wanted to become a student at Texas State University.  She is a Communication Studies major with a minor in Mass Communications and would like to work in Public Relations and Community Development.  During her career at Texas State, she has participated in Paws Preview and served as the 2008-2009 Student Manager, and is now an active member with Student Foundation, Sigma Phi Lambda, and Fellowship of Christian Athletes.  She enjoys going to school and participating in extracurricular activities and intramural sports.

Michael Patty

Michael Flowers

Michael grew up in Dallas, Texas and graduated from Woodrow Wilson High School. At Woodrow, Michael was quarterback of the football team, an all-district baseball player, and a district and city champion wrestler. He wrote for the school newspaper and won journalism awards at the local and state level. In 2003, Michael joined the United States Marine Corps. In boot camp he was the Company High Shooter, received a meritorious promotion at graduation, and broke the Bravo Range Shooting Record. He graduated Company Honorman from the School of Infantry and was his Occupational Specialty School Honor Graduate, resulting in a meritorious promotion at graduation. He served two tours in Iraq and thirty-nine months after joining the Marine Corps, he was promoted to the rank of Sergeant. Michael has his brown belt in Marine Corps Martial Arts and is a marksman shooting instructor for his unit. In the fall of 2006, Michael enrolled at Texas State and pledged the Phi Delta Theta fraternity. His first year as a Phi Delt, he was elected Chapter IFC Delegate, received the Phi Delt of the Year award and the IFC Delegate of the Year award. He was recently elected as the 2007-2008 Interfraternity Council President. Michael’s professional goals include a career in mineral law, oil and natural gas, and energy development. Michael enjoys team roping, hunting, sports, training his Black Lab, and watching the Dallas Cowboys.

Michael, currently a senior, was born and raised in San Antonio, Texas. After graduating from Antonian College Preparatory High school in 2006 he made his home at Texas State University. While studying for his BBA in Marketing, Michael became involved in Kappa Alpha Order and the American Marketing Association. Along with school Michael also works part-time at the LBJ Student Center. There he obtained the position of Student IT Manager. Michael one day hopes to pursue his MBA and look into entrepreneurial ideas. In his free time, Michael enjoys fishing, hunting, kayaking the San Marcos river, and traveling to new places.

Miyaka was born in Ft. Hood, Tx. She graduated from the Liberal Arts  and Science Academy program at Lyndon Baines Johnson High School in May 2005. The following fall, she began her journey at Texas State University. This Interdisciplinary Studies major is currently a senior and plans to graduate Cum Lade in May 2010. Miyaka is involved in several other organizations such as Delta Sigma Theta Sorority, Inc, National Pan- Hellenic Council, Order of Omega, and the Impact Movement. For the past seven summers, Miyaka has volunteered as a counselor at Camp CAMP; a camp for children with disabilities. In her free time, Miyaka enjoys to help where she can. You can find her volunteering at the San Marcos Activity Center or behind the scenes of various events on campus. Immediately after graduation, Miyaka would like to teach in Uganda, Africa for a summer.

Historian

Sami grew up in Austin, Texas and graduated from McNeil High School. At McNeil, Sami played volleyball and softball and was the President of Spirit Blazers.  After graduating high school in 2006 she enrolled at Texas State.  She quickly started to attend Crosstalk regularly, as well as History club, and later became a PAL for PAWS Preview.  She joined Student Foundation in the spring of 2009, and became Historian chair in the fall of 2009. She is majoring in History with a teaching certificate. After graduating she plans to teach and eventually become an administrator of education.

Sara Gillum was born in Ft. Worth, Texas and raised in Aledo, TX. She graduated as salutatorian of Aledo High School in 2006. Sara has been involved in several organizations during her time in college such as the Pre-Med Society, Medical Explorers, Student Foundation, Campus Crusade for Christ, and Bridges. She is currently a small group leader for CRU and also actively working with international students with the program Bridges. Sara is a Mitte scholar at Texas State. Being a pre-med student, she has spent a lot of time volunteering at various hospitals both in San Marcos and Ft. Worth. Sara is a Biology major and Chemistry minor with a 4.0 GPA. She has been on the Dean’s List all semesters at Texas State. She will graduate in May 2010 and that following August attend medical school. Sara wants to practice primary care medicine with a special emphasis on medical missions.

Born in Shreveport, Louisiana, Stephen had lived in Schertz, Texas for eight years prior to arriving at Texas State. He graduated Salutatorian in his class at Samuel Clemens High School in May of 2007. As a current freshman at Texas State, Stephen has been involved in Student Foundation, intramural sports, Mitte Scholars Society, Mitte Honors Program, Chemistry Club, and local Boy Scout Troop 112. Stephen will graduate with a Bachelor of Science in Biochemistry with a double minor in Math and Biology. After college, he plans to attend medical school with aspirations to become an orthopedic surgeon. His hobbies include playing sports, working out, having movie nights with friends, going to the river, and spending time with family.

Sarah Hadley is a junior, pursuing a Bachelor's of Science in Fashion Merchandising with a minor in Business Administration.  Sarah is from Dripping Springs, Texas, whose high school colors were maroon and gold, so she is maroon and gold for life.  She is very involved on campus in organizations such as:  President of Fashion Merchandising Association, Vice President of University Ambassadors, New Student Orientation Leader, PAWS Preview Co-Chair and PAL, Phi Upsilon Omicron, McCoy College Ambassadors, Student Chapter of the Alumni Association, and Student Foundation.  She is able to balance her extracurriculars while maintaining a GPA of 3.7, residing on the Dean's List each semester she has been at college.  Her favorite thing about Texas State University is the ability to get to know the professors personally.  Even though this is a large campus, she has never felt like just a number and appreciates the opportunities that a large university can bring her, but still maintaining a small university atmosphere.

Keileigh was born and raised in Beaumont, TX. An active member in her high school, she couldnot wait to become involved at Texas State University- San Marcos. She began pledging Delta Gamma fall 2006 and Pi Sigma Alpha Spring 2007. She has since held positions within Pi Sigma Alpha including Vice President and President. When she is not busy with school, work and extra curricular activities; she enjoys being around her friends and family, watching movies and hanging out outside.

Trenton was born November 16, 1988 in Houston, Texas to his loving mother Bonita Green. He came to Texas State University-San Marcos and quickly became involved in the Greek life. Trenton has been involved in all aspects of campus from athletics to Greek life by becoming a member and eventually serving as president of his fraternity Phi Beta Sigma, which led to his passion for Texas State and a greater interest in investing in this great university. After joining Phi Beta Sigma, he became involved with other organizations on campus such as Associated Student Government, as well as, serving students as a resident assistant at San Jacinto Hall. Trenton during his final year at Texas State University is currently the president of Black Student Alliance, a leadership organization for the African American community, and continues to help build the community around him by maintaining positions in various organizations, as well as, helping build future bobcats as a Texas State mentor in order to be an influence his peers to think outside the box and take advantage of all the great things Texas State has to offer. By joining organizations such as Student Foundation, he tries to be a bridge between Texas State and the African-American community and gives a voice to issues here at Texas State. Trenton is thrilled and empowered by God, through whom all things are possible, and his mother who keeps him grounded.
