William C. Patterson was raised in Richardson, Texas by his parents Greg and Lynda. In high school, Clay was active in sports, academics, and boy scouts. He achieved the rank of Eagle Scout shortly before graduating from J.J Pearce High School in the spring of 2003.
Sara Darby, born in Garland, Texas, recently became a Bobcat. She began courses at Texas State in August of 2007, after graduating from Garland High School, and plans on graduating in the spring of 2011. She currently is pursuing a degree in nutrition and food science in hopes of becoming a registered dietitian so that she may one day work with either hospitals or in a school district. Sara is involved in the University Ambassadors, the student chapter of the Alumni Association, and the Student Volunteer Connection. She also currently holds a job at the LBJ Visitor’s Center. Outside of school, Sara enjoys concerts, reading, and traveling. When finished with school, she hopes to join the Peace Corps, and after twenty-seven months, return to the Austin area.
Maria was born and raised in Manila, Philippines but later moved with her family to start her high school career in Houston, Texas. She came to Texas State University in the fall of 2006 to major in Mathematics and hope to become a gynecologist in the future. Maria’s love for Texas State University continues to grow and that is why she pursued membership in Student Foundation. She hopes to inspire as well as learn from other student leaders on campus. She wants Student Foundation to be known around campus and have its members feel the prestige of being a part of this organization. Outside Student Foundation, Maria is involved in Associated Student Government, PAWS Preview, and Residence Hall Association. On her down time, Maria enjoys cooking, working out, sewing, dancing, and spending time with the people closest to her heart.
Rachel was born in Houston TX and was home schooled until high school graduation. Home schooling allowed her to take numerous dual credit classes at the local community beginning at age fifteen. In 2007 she graduated from high school, and from Lone Star College with an associates degree. She began school at Texas State shortly thereafter. Pursuing a dual degree in Management and Psychology, she hopes to go to graduate school and someday work with terminal or at risk children. During her time at Texas State, she has enjoyed being a part of many organizations, holding officer positions in both University Ambassadors and Student Foundation. In her spare time she enjoys music, movies, reading, naps, and conversations.
