Student Foundation continues to sponsor great events and to produce great leaders. The Bill Hogue Memorial Scholarship was established following Bill Hogue's tragic death, which occurred six weeks after his graduation from Texas State University-San Marcos in December 1987. Hogue was an active member of the Texas State campus through his involvement in Student Foundation, Student Orientation, and cheerleading. He also was an active member in the Kappa Alpha Fraternity, and he taught classes for the Catholic Student Organization. Hogue maintained this level of involvement throughout his college career while working full-time and part-time to pay for his education. The Bill Hogue Memorial Scholarship is awarded annually to a member of Student Foundation who exhibits the enthusiastic pride in Texas State and leadership on campus that characterized Hogue's life.
