The Texas State Student Foundation has been sponsored by Dr. John Garrison since its inception. His active involvement has ensured that the organization has always been comprised of "the best of the best" at Texas State. In an effort to ensure the long-term viability and value of the organization, Dr. Garrison has convened a group of former members to form a permanent Texas State Student Foundation Alumni Advisory Board.

The purpose of the Student Foundation Alumni Advisory Board (SFAAB) is to provide guidance and direction to the active Student Foundation organization. The SFAAB will ensure continuity in the organization through the eventual changes in campus sponsorship and potential expansion of its mission.The board is dedicated to improving the value of the Student Foundation experience for its members and to increasing the positive impact of the organization on the University and its students.

The SFAAB will work with Student Foundation, its officers, its advisor, and the University administration to provide strategic oversight and direction in the following areas:

• Mission, Programs, and University Relations
• Membership and Member Selection
• Leadership Development and Career Advancement
• Student Foundation Alumni Relations
• Scholarship Fundraising and Distribution
  

The members of the SFAAB represent every era of the organization’s history and have generously volunteered their time and leadership to the cause.
