About Bobcat Pause
Bobcat Pause is an annual event proudly hosted by Student Foundation and the Dean of Students Office. The ceremony honors students, faculty, staff, and retired faculty and staff who have passed away during the preceding year. With this event, Student Foundation hopes to instill the importance of remembrance and community, and hopes to offer comfort to those who mourn the deceased. It is our compassion and caring for each other that reflect the excellence of our university and what it truly means to be a Bobcat.
The ceremony includes remarks by the university president, words of comfort and a roll call of those being remembered. The university community, and friends and family of the deceased are invited to join in honoring of fallen Bobcats. Attendees are encouraged to bring photos or flowers to display in honor of their loved ones.
This year will mark the 30th annual Bobcat Pause Memorial Service, which will take place in the LBJ Student Center Ballroom on Thursday, April 12, 2017 at 6:00 pm, with a reception preceding the ceremony at 5:15 pm.
Bobcat Pause Guest Book
Student Foundation invites all students, faculty, staff, administration, and guests to use the online guest book to submit comments in honor of deceased loved ones. With your permission, these comments will be posted on this website and may be used during Bobcat Pause Memorial services.
