Student Foundation members with Texas State University President Denise M. TrauthFounded in 1978 by the Dean of Students, the Student Foundation was organized for the purpose of encouraging student leaders to be involved in campus, community and alumni activities; to enlist outstanding students at Texas State; and to promote the general welfare of the university. The organization is chartered by the Dean of Students Office and functions as a corps of premier leaders who assist the Dean of Students Office, Division of Student Affairs, University President and the rest of the campus community in fostering student leadership and building tradition, spirit and respectability for Texas State.

Student Foundation is devoted to Texas State and is dedicated to serving as representatives of Texas State when exemplary students are needed. Our goal is to increase our involvement in higher-level activities that will give our members opportunities to promote Texas State and Student Foundation.

Bobcat Pause

Bobcat Pause is an annual event hosted by Student Foundation and the Dean of Students Office that honors members of the campus community who have recently passed away.

This year will mark the 30th Annual Bobcat Pause Memorial Service, which will take place in the LBJ Student Center Ballroom on April 12, 2017 at 6 p.m., with a reception preceding the ceremony starting at 5:15 p.m.

The ceremony includes remarks by the university president, words of comfort, and a roll call of those being remembered. The university community, and friends and family of the deceased are invited. Attendees are encouraged to bring photos or flowers to display in honor of their loved ones.
